I love nature, and so the idea of paradise has certain appeal. The down side for me was the thought of having to go wherever God told me I must go - and living in that place with a whole bunch of other people. I have always been a loner and a bit of a drifter. Of course if I'd been given the opportunity of having a horse drawn gipsy style caravan maybe - just maybe it would have been more attractive!

Yeh and a great many people in Rubery and neighbouring congregations still believe Jaz was innocent - so why's he in prison. Another case of a breakdown in the legal system? I think not.

I fail to see how elders can set themselves up as judge and jury especially in the case of paedophilia. These monsters are vile and cunning. Subtle enough to gain the trust of innocent victims and manipulative enough to convince others that it is they who are the victims. It's all well and good to say 'Jehovah will reveal it if it is so' - well just maybe when these kids come forward that is exactly what is being done! I work with vulnerable children and our child protection policy is very strict - not uncommon in any profession in the UK that deals with children. So why does the Borg allow convicted paedophiles to go from door to door unaccompanied? Why are they not prevented from having close association with children? I have seen the evidence with my own eyes, I don't need anyone to tell me. It turns me cold and sickens my soul.

PAEDOPHILE in Llantwit Major Congregation-UK
by kat7302 inthere is a paedophile in the llantwit major congregation in south glamorgan,uk.
he was disfellowshipped from barry congregation following a judicial meeting where approximately 20 sisters aged between 9 and upwards gave statements accusing him of alledgely commiting......child abuse, indecent behaviour and rape.
he of course denied all allegations and the elders did their best to protect him and took years to finally get the situation sorted but eventually, they had no way in which to protect him anymore so he was removed from the congregation.

What do you like to watch?
by SpiceItUp inok...not that there is anything wrong with serious threads (i for one enjoy them) but i was looking through the ones today and decided i needed a bit of fluff in my day (been way too serious lately).
so my question is..even though its rerun season...what tv shows do you like to watch?.
myself - i was an avid "x-files" fan but alas they have ended the series .

No sadly I don't get Paramount. My friend does however - which is how I get Seinfeld tapes.

By the way does anyone know if it is available on DVD? Would sure like to get my hands on it if it is. It's only shown on late night cable channels in the UK, so I have to rely on someone taping it for me (rather poorly done, but well meant). Email me on [email protected] if you can help

4 more days till I leave the Watchtower
by Leander inin a few more days i'll be making my departure from the wts, part of me is relieved and yet another part of me is dreading the drama i'll be going through shortly.
i've been trying to prepare myself for the deluge of questions that i know are sure to come from my family.
my wife will be the first person i tell obviously and then i'll tell my mother and younger brother.

I 'faded' away. Reason? I have an only daughter who is still in the 'truth', ultimately I don't think it would be fair to her to make the clean break that my heart is desirous of. I am a mother - I still need to be there for her, even though it would be her closing the door - it would be me instigating it by my actions.

Curious demon inspired tale :o)
by Dizzy Cat ini suppose this is a tale of how badly a set of extreme beliefs can effect the mind!.
i knew of a brother who suffered with mental ill health and often had hallucinations, of the visual variety.
after a while during his passage through the truth he began to see strange demons in unusual places.

It's all true minimus - I'll vouch for all DC says - having known him for many a long year and having been acquainted with certain insanities............. and I'm not talking about the people who are suffering from mental illness, well not in the recognized medical sense.
By the way, this is my first post and I would just like to say 'Hi!' to everyone.
HI everyone!
